WHY ARE WE DOING THIS
There are three overarching reasons:
- We have the privilege to not be gravely impacted by this pandemic. We believe it is our moral obligation to leverage our privilege and our expertise towards those that are less fortunate. So we are not looking to make money or get recognition, we just want to make an impact.
- We believe that there isn’t enough emphasis on the economic impact of this pandemic and the measures taken to mitigate it. Lives should be saved, but not at the expense of other lives. It’s really hard to predict what the economic impact will be on different people, especially the less fortunate. This does not intend to discount the health-side of things, it just intends to supplement it.
- We believe that we must use the data that is out there to make better decisions. We must use evidence, reason and logic to try and be as intelligent and as effective as we can about how we are making an impact.
